Are you aged 16-25? Do you help to care for someone in your family? Is your caring role affecting you to achieve your life goals?

YOUR FUTURE is a new service which offers support and advice to help you reconnect and achieve.
We are aware of the barriers that young adult carers can face. We understand how managing a caring role and pursuing other life’s challenges can be daunting.
YOUR FUTURE will tailor support specifically to meet your aspirations whilst continuing with your caring role.
Education support: Classroom studying is not suitable for everyone, luckily there are alternatives which can be flexible to suit you.
We ensure the exams taken are accredited, this will ensure you achieve the correct qualifications which are needed to apply for a college or University course.
YOUR FUTURE can support you to attend college or University open days connecting you to the right routes for support to manage studying alongside your caring role.
Training/apprenticeships: Are you ready to begin employment and would like to choose the option of starting an apprenticeship or training?
YOUR FUTURE can link in with employers to assist you to find the right options available to ensure you have the reassurance your caring role will not be affected or have an impact on your training.
Finding the right training course or apprenticeship is an effective way of learning whilst earning and many employers choose to employ their apprentice’s after completion.
YOUR FUTURE can support your employer to understand the challenges a young adult carer can face, ensuring a healthy work-caring balance can be supported and achieved.
Employment: Advice will be offered, and we will use our knowledge to link in with other professionals offering an array of workshops providing confidence building skills.
We run CV writing workshops, signpost to carer benefit advisors and offer support to help you establish a career route.
Social events: There are also opportunities to attend social events with other young adult carers either online or in person to improve social anxieties, improve mental health and meet other young adult carers.
We will hold Carer led sessions to ensure young adult carers have an input to how this service is shaped, ensuring your voice is heard.
YOUR FUTURE plan to educate employers, schools, colleges and Universities about young adult carers, how they can ensure carers feel valued and supported to achieve the best outcome within their organisation.
