We would like to say a huge congratulations to Valley House on being accredited with our Carer Friendly Bronze Award.

Valley House provides supported accommodation for survivors of domestic abuse aged from 16 years old. They offer a range of safe, secure accommodation for both individuals and families fleeing abuse. Referrals into the service are taken 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, and can be made by professionals or via self–referral.

Valley House are incredibly supportive of their staff, and have received the award for not only recognising that many of their workforce are carers but for taking steps to support them also.

More than one in seven people in any workplace are carers, so it is vitally important that suitable support is in place to support them. Without this support it can be very challenging for carers to continue working, with 600 people a day on average leaving work because of the pressures associated with juggling work and care.
