If you are anything like the rest of us, you probably don’t need more stuff for your birthday. A lot of us have enough as it is and don’t actually need another mug or pair of novelty socks! 

Your birthday doesn’t necessarily need to be all about receiving; if you’re in a fortunate enough position, it can be about giving too. That’s why Facebook Birthday Fundraisers are such a useful tool.

Anybody can set up a birthday fundraiser and there are thousands of amazing causes that you can help by getting involved. You can inspire your friends with your passion for supporting unpaid carers by sharing your special day with us. A Facebook fundraiser posted to your timeline tells your friends and family what matters to you on your special day and it doesn’t have come at the expense of cake and cards – you can have those things too!

If you want to set up your own birthday fundraiser to support Carers Trust Heart of England please follow the steps below.

1. On your computer, log in to Facebook.
2. In the promotion in your Feed, type in the search bar to find Carers Trust Heart of England
3. Select Carers Trust Heart of England and then select 'Fundraisers', before clicking 'Raise Money'
4. Under "Details", please enter:
   1. How much you want to raise and the currency you want donations to be inAn explanation on why you are raising money
   1. The date that you want the fundraiser to end
5. Click Next.
6. Under "Tell your story", enter:
   1. A title for your fundraiser
   1. A brief explanation for why you wanted to create this fundraiser
7. Under "Pick a cover photo", choose one of the suggested photos.
8. Click Create.

A message will pop up that congratulates you on creating your fundraiser. From there, you can invite your friends to donate, share your fundraiser in your Feed or donate to the fundraiser yourself.
