Our specialist care services support people with specific needs including cancer care, dementia support, stroke rehabilitation, post hospital support and palliative care services.
Dementia and Alzheimer’s Care Services
Dementia and Alzheimer’s disease are progressive illnesses that manifest with a range of symptoms including forgetfulness and short-term memory loss. The progression of the illnesses can cause confusion, irritability, aggression, mood swings, trouble with language and long-term memory loss.
We support carers of people with all types of Dementia through our care support staff who are trained to understand the varied needs of people with these conditions.
Post hospital care services
Coming home after a stay in hospital can be scary, causing anxiety for both the patient and their family and friends. Support from our care support staff can go a long way to help build confidence, improve recovery and encourage greater independence following a period of constant care and attention. Post hospital care prevents unnecessary re-admission to hospital or to a residential nursing home.
End of Life Palliative Care Services
This service supports those wishing to return home from hospital when active medical intervention is no longer an option. Our care support staff play a vital role in helping people to approach the end of their life with compassion, dignity and respect whilst receiving flexible, responsive services focused on their own personal circumstances.
Gastrostomy Care Services
Gastrostomy is a term used to describe a surgical opening made directly into the stomach to help people who experience difficulty swallowing food and liquids. A discreet PEG (percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy) tube inserted into the opening allows for food and liquids and medicines to enter the stomach directly.
By the management of food and fluid intake through a feeding tube we can ensure people are as independent as possible whilst receiving PEG care. We take any dietary requirements into account and support with any medication while ensuring the area is comfortable and hygienic to prevent infection.
