Carers Week is taking place between June 11th and June 17th.
The week is a campaign and a call to action for all to think about the invaluable role that the 6.5 million carers make in the UK. It is also an opportunity to help recognise those who may be caring, maybe don’t recognise themselves as a carer or have been caring for a long time and could do with some support.
This year’s Carers Week is all about ensuring that the Carers of Coventry are getting the chance to look after their own health and keeping connected with the things that are important to them, whether that’s friends and family or the local community.
This year Coventry City Council are holding a Carers Information and Wellbeing Event on Wednesday 13th June 2018 from 11am to 2pm at Coventry Central Hall, Warwick Lane, CV1 2HA.
This will be an opportunity to find out more about the different agencies that support carers in Coventry and find out more around how to keep healthy in Coventry today. There will be a range of agencies;
• Carers Trust
• Alzheimer’s Society
• Admiral Nursing
• Healthy Lifestyles Team
• Coventry Libraries
• Age Uk
• Coventry Mind & the Recovery Academy
• 70 Years of the NHS
• Capital of Culture Team
• DWP – Universal Credit
This is a drop in event open to families, carers, professionals and anyone wanting to find out more about services out there. So come along, have a cup of tea and find out more about what Coventry has to offer.
