The focus is on people, not ticking boxes

“The staff are unique. They focus on us as carers, are a listening ear, a source of information, making us feel valued and able to continue through difficult periods. The services provided have evolved and complement each other. The focus is on people, not ticking boxes.”

They are a credit to your organisation

“We would like to thank all the girls who cared for our sister Nora. It was her greatest wish to be at home and without the time and effort your management team devoted to problem solving, and the most efficient use of resources, this would not have been possible. We appreciate it was not easy, but we do know that the ladies genuinely cared for Nora and did more than was required of them. They are a credit to your organisation. We would without hesitation recommend you to others who may be in need of care in the community.”

You guys made me feel I wasn’t alone

“You guys made me feel I wasn’t alone. I’d never classed myself as a carer, just a daughter looking after her mum and dad. But I was slowly realising the care mum and dad needed, on top of recovering from surgery myself, and holding onto a full time job were getting too much. When I got off the phone with (Support Worker) I felt a huge weight lift from my shoulders, and until it had been lifted I hadn’t realised just how heavy it was. I cannot thank you enough.”

They all carried out their duties to a very high standard

“On behalf of my family and myself. May I express our sincere thanks for the wonderful way you have provided care for the needs of my wife Yvonne whilst she was at my home. She looked forward to all the carers visiting her and the sincere companionship she enjoyed during the sitting service provided. It allowed me to have a break which I very much appreciated. Please convey our thanks to everyone concerned. They all carried out their duties to a very high standard. ”

I was given, help, advice, kindness and a sympathetic ear

“I came to the Centre at a time of emotional burn out and mental/physical exhaustion. I had no idea of the help available or how to access it. I was trying to be a full time carer while also working full time. I had no idea I had any rights as a carer and was attempting to fit all my mother’s many healthcare appointments around my work, using precious holiday which I desperately needed to recharge my batteries. I was given, help, advice, kindness and a sympathetic ear and left with a list of agencies who could support me and armed with knowledge to deal with them and my employer. Without the help of the Centre I genuinely think I would have had a complete breakdown and been unable to look after myself and family, let alone my mother!”
